  • Midweek Happy Hour | White Wine Mojito

I hate it too when I don't post for the mid-week happy hour! But here I am, back with a new alcohol for the month. It's white wine. And given my busy schedule, I am starting off the month with the easiest white wine cocktail perhaps - a white wine mojito. Why white wine for the month? I recently asked my family on Instagram and white wine won unanimously! I have shared a white wine cocktail before. This one is even more basic - you just need lemonade for it. I am assuming life has already given you lemons and you have made the lemonade. Might as well enjoy it differently! I guess lemonade is the most basic drink that is available everywhere. I make fresh lemonade all the time - a little sweet and using water and sparkling water in the same ratio. Lemonade is the best summer drink and spiking it is never a bad idea. Mojito is super refreshing. I made the white wine mojito and loved it! If you are too lazy, you can just use citrus sparkling water. Add it to your white wine, add a lemon spiral or wedge and enjoy the spritzer! I am sharing the best quantities that worked for me. Also, the secret here is to have both the wine and the lemonade super chilled. You can use any wine of your choice. I love chardonnay - I have played with a lot! Enjoy the white wine mojito! I have seen people adding white wine to the classic mojito. You add vodka to your lemonade and then add the wine. I am not a fan of it though but you can try! Drink responsibly. Mixing alcohols is cool. But mixing drinking with driving is not! White Wine Mojito Ingredients For lemonade 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice 1/2 cup water 1 teaspoon sugar pinch of salt mint leaves For cocktail 2/3 cup wine (75 ml) 1/3 cup lemonade 30ml rum Instructions Make the lemonade by thoroughly mixing the ingredients. Chill both the wine and lemonade to the same temperature. In a white wine glass or highball glass, pour the lemonade and then the wine. Stir gently Garnish with lemon wedge and/or mint leaves!

Despite their foamy nature and limited flavor profiles, beer cocktails offer a world of creative possibilities for those willing to experiment. Join me as we dive into the art of beer cocktails and uncover the secrets behind crafting the perfect summer libation. Jump to Recipe Facts About Beer Cocktails Before we delve into the world of beer cocktails, let's explore some interesting facts about these distinctive libations: Foamy Dilemma: One of the challenges of working with beer in cocktails is its foamy nature, which can make shaking a cocktail difficult. However, with careful technique and the right ingredients, it's possible to create delicious beer-based drinks that are both flavorful and refreshing. Beer Variety: With a wide range of beer styles available, from light lagers to rich stouts, there's no shortage of options for mixing cocktails. While lighter beers like lagers are often preferred for their crispness and versatility, darker varieties can also lend depth and complexity to certain cocktails. Limited Flavors: Unlike spirits and liqueurs, beer offers a more limited range of flavors to work with. However, common ingredients like citrus fruits, herbs, and spices can complement the natural flavors of beer and enhance the overall drinking experience. Exploring Fruity Beer Cocktails While beer cocktails may present unique challenges, they also offer exciting opportunities for creative flavor combinations. Inspired by my travels to Prague and the diverse flavors of its beer culture, I've developed a fruity beer cocktail that's perfect for summer sipping. Why Mango Beer? During my visit to the Beer Museum in Prague, I was captivated by the array of beer flavors on offer, sparking a quest to recreate those unique experiences at home. Mango, with its tropical sweetness and vibrant flavor, emerged as the perfect complement to beer, offering a refreshing twist on traditional lagers. Drink responsibly. Don't mix drinking with driving. Mango Beer Ingredients For Mango Puree 1 Mango 1/4 Cup Water Dash of honey (optional) For the cocktail 330 ml beer 45 ml mango puree Instructions Peel the mango and put the pulp in a blender. Add the water, and some honey if your mango is not sweet and blend to a very smooth paste. Strain the puree In a tall glass, pour 45 ml of the puree Carefully add beer and stir as gently as you can Chug it immediately! Notes You can use canned mango puree This drink needs to be consumed immediately as mango can ferment Make sure to strain the puree because you just want an infused flavour only While beer cocktails may pose challenges for mixologists, they also offer endless opportunities for creativity and innovation. Whether you're sipping on a classic Shandy or experimenting with fruity concoctions like the Mango Beer Cocktail, there's no denying the refreshing appeal of beer-based drinks on a hot summer day. Brewing the Perfect Iced Tea As an Indian, black tea is a staple in my household, making it the perfect base for our sweet beer cocktail. While brewing a fresh cup of iced tea is a breeze, I've included a simple recipe below for those who need a refresher. And while I'm sticking to the classic lemon flavor for today's cocktail, feel free to experiment with seasonal fruits like mango or peaches for a fun twist! Recipe: Sweetest Beer Cocktail Beer cocktails are not only fun to make but incredibly refreshing, making them a must-try for any summer gathering. The key to this particular concoction lies in the ratio – for the perfect balance of flavors, I recommend a 2:1 ratio of sweet tea to beer. Trust me, it's a winner! Drink responsibly. Don’t drink and drive. Sweet Tea Lager Ingredients For Sweet Tea 1 Tea Bag (preferably black tea) 100 ml water 2 teaspoon sugar 2/3 cup ice For the Cocktail 100 ml Lager (IPA works well too) 1/2 tablespoon lemon 1 cup ice 1 lemon wheel (for garnish) Instructions We will first make the freshly brewed tea. Bring the water to boil and add the teabag. Let it sit for 2-3 minutes and quickly pour it over ice. Wait till all the ice has dissolved and the iced tea has doubled in its volume. In a tall glass, pour the tea and the beer. Add the lemon juice. Give a light stir and garnish with a lemon wheel! Notes You can use packaged iced tea. You can adjust the sugar accordingly. I used Budweiser Light Platinum because of the sweet finish. Light beers give a better result than dark ones. You can try other flavours with summer fruits like mangoes and peaches. As you raise your glass to celebrate National Iced Tea Day, why not take it up a notch with this delightful sweet beer cocktail? With its refreshing blend of iced tea and light beer, it's the perfect way to beat the heat and toast to summer in style. • Mid Week Happy Hour | Tipsy Facts about Wine

Hello February! This is the month of love – absolutely! And which alcohol is the most romantic of all? Without a doubt, it is wine! I can never get enough of it and will never will. After having wine tours in different parts of the world (I am yet to do France – that is the dream), I realized wine is something I can never get bored of! Life Update: I cleared WSET Level 1 in wine and I am preparing for Level 2 now. Though wine is excellent when enjoyed as it is, wine cocktails make the drinking experience even better! Mimosas and Sangrias are amazing, and that is the reason I am going to talk about more easy-to-make cocktails using your regular wine, all through this month! Wine makes daily life easy, less hurried, with fewer tension and more tolerance Benjamin Franklin But first, let us set some background by talking about some pretty amusing and tipsy facts about wine. And we are going to talk about a lot of wines today. So, if you fear of wine, you can stop reading. Oh, and that is called, oenophobia, by the way! Wine has so many rights and wrongs. Just so many rules! I am always confused – I mean it’s just alcohol, right? But there are a few very sophisticated things that I have learned from the wine tours and digging into the wine encyclopedia in the past many years! So, about the rights and wrongs – there is a right way of holding a wine glass. You hold it from the stem. Holding the glass otherwise raises the temperature of the wine! Now that is something! I love my chardonnay and rose chilled, and that is the reason you will not find any of those stemless wine glasses in my house. Talking about rules – every rule is pretty logical when it comes to wine. A wine bottle that is corked is stored lying down to keep the cork moist. If the cork dries out, it dwindles and might fall into the wine. Those are two of the few things which my silly questioning rounds with the tour guides of wineries made me learn. Now, let me share a few things which they generally tell you! I am a believer in the concept of reincarnation. And knowing about wines has strengthened my faith in it! According to “some” Roman legends, if a husband found his wife drinking wine, he had the liberty to kill her. Women were not allowed to drink wine! And that is how I believe, I might have died in my last birth! No warrior, nothing – just an everyday Roman housewife, fancying some wine! Also, I had no idea that wine’s liquid volume was measured in some different unit. It’s called “butt”. No kidding. And finally, remember how I talked about the unimaginable flavours of Vodka? Wine is not just fruity or spicy. In Vietnam, if you ask your waiter for a glass of cobra wine – they will serve the rice wine covered with snake blood. Hold on, that is not it. There are high chance that they might have killed the snake on the spot! That is it that I have to share! Hope you have a great February! Love!
