Celebrate #DaanUtsav, Sport A #HappyDot

We often talk about gratitude - being thankful for what we have and what we get. But how often do we think about going a step forward and actually give back something to the universe and not just thank it?

Giving positive vibes to the universe is the best thing that you can do. How can you do it? You are capable enough to work to earn. Ever wondered that may be you can give a li'l part of that year end bonus to the ones who are a li'l less capable and lucky than you are?

Every year, during the Durga Puja, our li'l Bengali community here in my neighborhood arrange a lunch for the ones who find it difficult to afford it. Fondly called the langar, I personally find it the most efficient way of giving back. When you feed someone, the look on their face is so satisfying. For me it is a matter of few grands but the people on the receiving end find it such a blessing. You can do your bit by organizing such langars on the important days of life.

My brother goes to the blind school every year on his birthday with  loads of gifts for the kids there. I feel so elated by it. You can sponsor a child's education at your neighborhood NGO/orphanage. Or better still, you can teach the kid of your maid who can not afford school or private tuition for her kid.

There are too many ways to celebrate the joy of giving. If you are not looking for excuses, there are many things that you can do. Just be a li'l more human and help the people who really need it!

Well said. I am writing a similar blog on what makes us most happy, and guess what, it is giving and helping others indeed.

What a positivity of thoughts Sushmita! What you sow, so shall you reap. And its like sowing the corn seed. You sow one and reap the cob!
